The result of the Senate Chairman Election has seen the coming of age of Imran Khan as the consummate politician tempered in the hurly burly of Pakistani politics at its dirtiest.
Pitted against the most corrupt politicians produced in our history, whose control is spread over the judiciary and the administration.
The flawed prosecution of NAB and the bails thus obtain have to now suffer the penalty prescribed under the law.
The judiciary can now fulfill its role. Hopefully we will see politicians pay for their sins.
The defeat of Yousaf Reza Gillani is a huge victory for Imran Khan who has singlehandedly defeated the most corrupt politicians of the land.
They had huge illicit funds at their control, and money was lavished on National and Provincial members whose support was bought, and almost brought down the Khan.
Fortunately for Pakistan, the Army remained steadfast, and the anti Imran Khan propaganda was dismissed.
Even though the media played a dubious role.
Imran Khan has won the battle from the front without any Faustian deal.
His principles are intact. This was the best part. No one can accuse him of stooping to conquer. Now he will begin his cleanup in earnest.
NAB and FIA will give the necessary successful prosecution in quick time.
The bails will be cancelled and prison sentences announced.
These proceedings should be made public so the judges may see that their proceedings are viewed and appreciated.
Imran Khan has once again made us proud.
The punishments must now be severe and such that future politicians should tremble when corruption is mentioned.
As the example of Hazrat Umar is mentioned with awe, so must the era of Imran be forever remembered as one where the icons of corruption were smashed forever.
Imran has defeated the collective enemy.
Now the punishments should become part of his legend.
The wrath of the khan should torment any wannabe Zardari or Sharif.
The word corruption should strive terror in the heart of any sugar hoarder, and those power producers whose reliance is based on a Shylock contract must now face the anger of a people’s court.
The fig leaf of international legalese will come to nought when placed against the national interest of the many.
Mansha may lose more than he thought possible.
The Sharif Zardari nexus is now over, the Mansha and Dawood children may find that their names are now toxic.
The future for them may now be intolerable, especially when it appears these contracts were deliberately manipulated, and as serious as a crime premeditated.
This alone is akin to a crime preplan making it doubly unacceptable to the people.
