Democracy is the best Revenge
Published on April 12th, 2021

The 36 months of PTI governance has seen its government stumbling from one crisis to another.
The main areas of improvement remain the Punjab and KPK.

Sind remains a main concern where development is at a standstill, and all the funds under the 18th amendment are drawn by the province to vanish into the pockets of Zardari and his sister into the black hole of Sind from which nothing can escape.

These funds apparently disappear into the voluminous pockets of Zardari not to be seen again. The rural areas of Sind languish in appalling poverty.

The hospitals are devoid of any medicines or staff. Yet the registers show thousands of ghost employees who fill the register with their names only to vanish again till next payday.

Larkana the birthplace and the burial ground of the Bhuttos, once a thriving bustling city now looks forlorn and forsaken except for the glistening marble mausoleums of the last three generations of Bhuttos, none of whom died of natural causes.
Only Fatima and Zulfiqar Junior are the remaining living bloodline.

Outside the graveyard a multitude of beggars sitn awaiting any visitor to the graveyard, to beseech them for a few coins, and to pray for more substantial rewards in their hereafter.

The hereafter is considered irrelevant, if the present dilapidated state of the city or the province is a measure of the Bhutto presence or of the Zardari revenge.

A glistening mausoleum is a glittering showpiece in an otherwise dead city.
The other cities of Sind display a similar dilapidated air like Nawabshah, Sukkur , Matli, Thatta and now Larkana.
The funds taken from the Federal government show no apparent, no gainful use.
They seem to have vanish without any visible outlay. These huge funds are a colossal waste of public funds for which the PTI government will now be held responsible.

Will these funds join the pool of stolen monies by the politicians whose recovery was an unfulfilled electoral promise of the PTI and was responsible for sweeping Imran Khan into power.
Now swelling with the billions vanishing into Zardari’s pockets.
This will be held to Imran’s account where he will join the long list of defendants in the NAB courts.
He is PM on whose watch these billions have vanished.
He cannot escape the responsibility or the liability.
He is Prime Minister and cannot disclaim responsibility.
These billions are just being added to those funds stolen by Zardari, Nawaz Sharif and now the Khan.
The thievery continues unabated, must we now await the coming of an another saviour?
Or is this the true revenge of democracy that was Benazir Bhutto’s electoral slogan.
Should we not forsake democracy which is not working for the people of Pakistan.
