Articles of the year 2020

The year is 2020. Pakistan finds itself in an unusual position. On the one hand we have a PM elected to power by a people yearning for justice and fair play.

This Prime Minister has earned a place for himself on the world stage on sheer merit.

He was not to the manor born, but he won his place in society on merit, hard work in the field of charity with notable successes on the hospital and university he established.

These successes were not easy, but his path was made more difficult by the political forces who saw in him a someone to be feared if his future continues in this vein of successes.

Opposing him were the political Incumbents who had till now feasted upon the opportunities afforded to those in power.

These opportunities were taken and misused by diverting most of the development funds into private pockets away from the true beneficiaries.

Thus the condition of health and education were deliberately ignored, creating a sub class of the deprived.

This was a creation of the New Democrats who used the vote to take power and then enrich themselves without allowing any development to spread.

Surprisingly Bhutto who brought the revolution of the masses. Destroyed the bourgeoise in its path, and nationalised industries that were beginning to establish themselves.

These nationalised industries were handed over to a waiting bureaucracy, eager to play their role in the pilferage.

Far worse was the pocketing of the development funds into private pockets. This saw mushrooming ghost schools staffed by ghost teachers.

Sindh has the largest number of ghost teachers, and the students share their classrooms with goats and chickens. Also polio and HIV victims are increasing.

Dog bites have reach an epidemic level, and the Sind government is already allowing the vaccines for rabies and polio to expire on hospital shelves.

Imran Khan will have to launch a revolution if he is to succeed.
There is a serious danger of Imran’s govt being undermined by Nawaz/ Saudi/ India/Israel.

A truly formidable line up with a huge collective stake not the least of which is a greater Israel brought about by the pushy son-in-law of outgoing President Trump.

However the emergence of Biden may see a swing away from the freewheeling ways of Trump, which border on the illegal, and his last two months in powers will have a negative effect on all Trump leftovers.

So sick are most Americans of the now exposed seamy side of Trump policies.
Because of Trump‘s misdemeanours the Biden administration has much to correct.

The American media is too sharp to miss such a gesture, and the speculation will mount in an unprotected Trump aftermath.

The American media is too powerful and too large to allow itself to be played. And luckily Imran Khan will meet a new President Biden untainted by the Trump stigma.
President Biden’s team will be extremely cautious to step very carefully through the minefield left behind.

Luckily for Pakistan Imran Khan brings with him a squeaky clean image rarely seen, and especially from Pakistan which has a legacy of the most notoriously corrupt politicians in the region.

Imran Khan is also well respected by the Chinese leadership who can now push ahead with their plans for the region.

China needs a strong support if it were and Pakistan to succeed in their economic partnerships. This could be a win win situation for both, China and Pakistan.
It will be a true game changer for the region.
Modi will have to rethink his strategies of pushing Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan around.

Modi thinks he has the military presence of Great Britain which was and still is partnered by Australia and New Zealand and Canada.

This alliance was ethnic and does not include Modi’s India in the brotherhood. That claim was forfeited long ago by Modi himself when he went saffron.

Unfortunately Modi decided to go Indian not realising that the Indian culture like its curry is not to everyone’s taste.

On our part we will have to play catch-up using the Chinese development strategies and joint ventures, that is the future world.
We have no grand designs, but also do not want to be the whipping boy for the Indians or the Americans.

We need to be rid of the parasitic rulers who have only misused us. There is no need to mention the Arabs who like the Indians will now realise their true worth minus the hot air inflationary boost mistaken for power.
