Perception Is Everything

The Army Chief must give a strong signal of where the Army stands. The Army should make it clear that it is not on any particular side, but will brook no nonsense in the affairs of the state.

Whether the government or the opposition, the Army should make it clear that being an arm of the government they will not brook any errant behaviour from anyone.

They do not need the cover of martial law, nut under the constitution. They are allowed to act in the aid of the law if they feel that the law is being broken.

The meeting at GHQ with the PDM leaders is one such event that was touted as a victory for the PDM.
The spin doctors of the N league are masters of chicanery. Backed by years of planted stories and cooperative economic journalists spread this perception.

The PDM spin that the Army has given the go ahead to the PDM for their jalsas has emboldened the rambled so they could turn up the attack.

The PDM propensity for lies and the PTi weakness at rebuttal coupled with the financial backing of the PDM is buying favourable leanings in the media.

The TV anchors are seen regularly spreading untruths about the PTI. They have cried the mantra of innocence protested by the Noon and Zardari leagues.

Fortunately, the guilt of these two parties is well established. The judiciary is perceived as the wrong doer, in not finalising the cases or allowing the slowness of the proceedings to blend into weakness of the grounds.

Again advantage is taken by the PML N. Worse the PTI is left with the negative fallout ranging from incompetence to inept government.

It seems after the many years and millions of rupees spent in assiduous cultivation of a hungry and now prosperous media, the poor PTI is left struggling in a sea of negativity. .

A shame when rupees carefully spent can overcome the lack of intelligence. It is apparent that IQ can be bought and used to transform a turnip in to a Nobel winner. Can naïveté become so common.

General Bajwa must make his presence felt in the acceleration of the Chinese involvement. This military flavour will give confidence to China that the Army is not backing the PDM. And that China, PTI and the Army should appear as a team leading a Pakistani into progressive future.

China needs a strong Pakistani partner not one being shackled by a corrupt PDM while looking for an NRO they are holding the progress of Pakistan hostage.

The Chinese are too smart to not realise which direction to follow. Their future is too closely coupled to Pakistan to allow the PDM crooks to succeed.

Surely GHQ understands the danger of any PDM meddling, for this will see Pakistan regress fifty years if the political crooks are not weeded out.
