The Indian philosophy that changed from intellectual and philosophical heights transformed itself into the more mundane and later under Modi, militant postures where bloodshed was encouraged, while Nehru and his followers took the policy of peace and led the alliance of nations as an opponent to the capitalist west - Europe and America.

The Indian businesses and industries remained in the capitalist belt but their government had their avowed leanings towards the Non - Aligned nations with a bent towards the Russian and Communist left.

Ostensibly this made them anti US and Pro Russians.
China because of this proximity was a natural threat.

This has now become a serious challenge to what India has considered to be its private reserve. Modi chose to abandon the decades of peaceful coexistence. Its ashrams and yogis became the mecca for peaceful meditation and spiritual cleansing attracting a huge following of Hollywood stars to improve their spiritual quality of life.

The Indians made poverty fashionable. Their ashrams offered accommodation with no amenities obliging the visitors to sleep on the floor with only the basic needs provided.

Even the meals were frugal with their vegetarian touch, meat was avoided.
Poverty projected and with astute marketing the Hindu ascetic way of life spread through the United States.
Buddhism was already established as a way of life through most of these ashrams.

Modi chose to drop the mantra of peace and adopted a new militant posture. This was unusual and not befitting the Hindu psyche but with the RSS indoctrination unleashed the blood lust that lurks just beneath the subliminal.
Modi thought that this new aggression would serve him well in the new order. Modi thought that aggression would humble his opponent.

His aggression awakened the once dormant Gurkhas into a retaliatory mode. They have recently redrawn the Map of Nepal to include parts that had been annexed by the Indian government and now Nepal is sending its military to establish its control of all of those territories as per the new Map of Nepal voted in unanimously by its parliament.
