Crime and Punishment

The time has come for GOP to correct major blunders committed by political governments that have had such a disastrous effect on the economy of Pakistan.

The PIA/Emirates debacle has brought Karachi, once the city of lights, a thriving hub and economic engine that drove the destiny of the youth, to a state where the pulse is missing.

It has been sold to the Arabs for less than thirty pieces of silver uprooting the future livelihood of the city of 20 million people.

The city, in number, which is bigger than many countries now stripped of its major power base that was PIA.

The engineering complexes and hotel institutes that were a part of the expertise that gave Karachi its edge to lead the rest of Pakistan into a dazzling future and beyond were cut short by one man whose lack of vision has single handedly deprived Pakistan and its youth of its once bright future.

George Santayana, a Spanish philosopher stated, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

The 40 years of political waywardness has brought Pakistan to its present sorry state. Unless Imran does not put a stop to this fall then in the words of Santayana, we shall be condemned to repeat it.

Khan Sahab, your Oxford education was intended to learn from the mistakes of others. More importantly, that mistakes do not go unpunished.

This punishment is more important than the mistakes. Without the punishment the mistake has not been acknowledged and will be repeated.

Fyodor Dostoevsky’s famous classic “Crime and Punishment”, in two words, is the legal jurisprudence that has been the grand theme of the morality of all of Europe.

For Imran to allow these crooks to escape punishment is to ignore the basic tenet of European law on which the Pakistani
judicial process is based.
The very Constitution of Pakistan stands violated.

Imran would do well by punishing the few lest we are faced with answering to the many that will surely rise up.

Imran khan must punish for these blunders or else we will repeat the same.

The difference between politicians and lawyers is that the politician makes mistakes and hires a lawyer to find an apt loophole.

The politicians then have to close this loophole. Nawaz Sharif has not bothered with the loopholes, he is convinced of his divine right.

Not realising that he is not king and he is ruled by laws of men. You cannot buy people all the time.

Nawaz Sharif’s dictum that he could buy any Pakistani has come unstuck much to his dismay and regret.

For the sake of Pakistan, this regret should act as a deterrent for any future officeholder, political or otherwise.

In summing up it can be noted that The Commandments and the Holy Quran are both layout plan for a correct life. The rules are very clear. The reward for virtue and the punishments for sins is well defined.

The Sharifs and Zardaris have established where the crime against the state have not been given their due punishment. Imran now has to restore this imbalance. The punishments due must now be meted out. Otherwise The Islamic laws of the Holy Quran Stand violated.

Mr.Khan, you have no option but to enforce these laws, if you would proscribe to the Kingdom of Madina. The time has run out for the robbers of Raiwind.
