According to the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment, 500,000 Pakistanis migrated to other countries in 2019.
The figures shown above show the youth of Pakistan leaving in droves offering themselves into the chop markets abroad at a pittance of their true worth. For years we have been the workers that have built the glittering hotels, apartment buildings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi etc. The quality in these buildings is a testament to the quality workmanship that our labour is capable of. Indeed, our robber elite vie to compete in the ownership of these apartments at huge prices. Sadly!
These are all funds taken out of the capital market of Pakistan, where it is already in short supply. And desperately needed. The politicians have focused their attention into money making schemes which are in reality dressed up scams to fleece investors from their hard earn money. This adds to the woes of the poor Pakistani who is trapped by the unscrupulous businessman backed by unethical politicians.
The businessmen have made it their primary goal of making money by any means with the protection of the politicians. At the same time the politician is able to route the most lucrative contracts and conditions through his political muscle. From there, the fine line between legal and illegality is soon blurred and the bottom line of profits is taken as the yardstick by which to measure the success of the projects without caring for the legality of the venture.
For the last thirty years, this has been practiced and successfully followed by the Sharifs/Zardaris. Pakistan has now entered the stage wherein the educated labour force is desperately moving abroad. Another interesting touch employed by the corrupt politicians in Sindh is the demand for an advance as high as fifty percent of the project cost even before the signature. On any quarry they point out that the project may not be signed otherwise. Many foreign companies have chosen to stay away.
The only successful are those who have powerful political backing, but then the percentage of add-on. This explains the huge shortfall of investment in Sindh. The figures quoted above are indeed shocking, but the Pakistani Talent available in Pakistan is truly outstanding,
One young lady recently earned a PHD from the prestigious London School of Economics. One of the top universities of England. And has gone on to obtain a fellowship where she will now be teaching.A remarkable achievement for a young Pakistani. A similar case study of a young Pakistani Girl who got her Masters in Physics from Howard, and went on to do a PHD in String Theory. This subject is unknown to most Pakistanis and unheard of to but a few highly qualified scientists.
These are just a few of the outstanding achievers of Pakistani Youth. It is now the duty of the Pakistan Army to call a halt to the political debauchery no other word can express this disgraceful condition of Pakistani politics.
The judiciary itself stands indebted, has been politicised and used as a tool of the PML-N. The bias shown in the latest judgments indicates a desperate need for a complete overhaul of the judicial system. The present system must go. Imran Khan has been incapacitated and is been further handicapped by a bureaucracy that is hand maiden of the Sharifs.
Imran Khan has admitted that the bureaucracy is firmly compromised and beyond redemption. He must start again with new names and honest people. We have seen that young brilliant Pakistanis exist and are doing well in Pakistan and abroad. He must pick the best from among them and induct them into a new cadre that will be able to deliver a future that our youth deserve.
